TDHD™ SIP Panels - Structural Insulated PanelsTDHD™ SIP Panels » A Better Building Alternative TDHD™ SIP Panels, as tested by the U.S. Department of Energy, have been proven to outperform conventional frame construction by at least 66% for energy efficiency. TDHD™ SIP Panels are 2-1/2 times stronger than conventional framing, cut the framing process down to approximately 1/3rd the time, and offer superior noise and weather isolation over traditional framing methods.
What Are TDHD™ SIP Panels?
TDHD™ SIP Panels » Exceeding New Building StandardsTitle 24 of the California Building Code, set into action on October 1, 2005, places a mandatory emphasis on better insulated, more tightly constructed and energy efficient buildings. TDHD™ SIP Panels currently exceed these new stringent construction standards.
TDHD™ SIP Panels » For Quality Construction Oriented Strand Board, or OSB, is an engineered wood product formed by layering strands (flakes) of wood in specific orientations. In appearance it has a rough and variegated surface with the individual strips (around 2.5 by 15 cm each) lying unevenly across each other in the direction of their grain.
Expanded Polystyrene, or EPS, is a polymer made from the monomer styrene, a liquid hydrocarbon that is commercially manufactured from petroleum. At room temperature, polystyrene is normally a solid thermoplastic, but can be melted at higher temperature for molding or extrusion, then resolidified. Styrene is an aromatic monomer, and polystyrene is an aromatic polymer.
